Great Portion of the US Population Is in Cities!

skyscraper-The graphic I chose for my header for now is a major city. People live on top of one another in so many cities. Here is a bit of a rundown of population stats:

So if there should be a natural or man-made disaster, being prepared is just a wise thing to do when you live in a highly populated area. Get to know your neighbors. Get to know who you can dogcount on as friends. Be aware of seniors in your buildings and see if they need anything.  Our natural tendency is to stick to ourselves; however, as so many things happen keeping track of one another will become important.

And, don’t forget to be prepared if you have pets. Our little friends/family members will need food and water, too.

Water, Water Everywhere and Not a Drop to Drink!

It was a natural disaster that can happen again anywhere. What can you do when you need potable water and it is no where to be found?

There is a solution, and it is quite reasonable. Get a Berkey! You may be the only source of drinkable water for neighbors who need potable water if there is an emergency such as shown to the left.

You can live without food for days if you have to do so. You cannot live without water.

The RNC Has Started!

The news is full of posts and You Tube videos regarding the Republican convention. Tempers rose yesterday and feelings are being aired on both sides. It should be an interesting week.

More sad news of police killed in Baton Rouge. Turkey went through a failed coup attempt and the after effects are being suffered. Yellowstone has been acting up and getting hotter, and there is so much more around the world.

Be prepared, Friends. Store up some water and at least a couple weeks of food. You will need water to reconstitute most storage food. So, please be aware of this. Canned foods with pop lids can be handy if you need something in a hurry.

I will go into more needed information regarding items you will want to have on hand like toilet paper. In Venezuela, toilet paper is getting to be so expensive. However, if you are like me, it is an important asset!:)

Seeds are good to have because if they are non-GMO, you can sprout them in a sprouter for fresh food at any time even if you live in an apartment or city condo. A small growing bed on a concrete patio or a grow bed and grow light overhead in-doors will suffice to encourage growth for the larger seeds. Something fresh with live enzymes is healthy for your family in times of stress.

Millions of Dollars Being Spent on Upcoming Political Convention Security

Can you imagine? Federal spending for the Republican Convention security of fifty million dollars is being spent of security for just one of the political conventions this month to offset Cleveland’s costs.

There should be a light coming on in your head that just as a precaution-just as a safety net for your family, it is well to consider being prepared for any emergency that could happen.

I am not an alarmist. I am just practical-very practical. And when it comes to family and what they need to survive everyday, I am passionate. I am sure that you feel the same way if you are on my site.

I have access to a few books that would come in handy for anyone to have on hand. Get them now. I will recommend more, but this is a start for you.
